(Info Series) Maker to Manufacturer: Building the Maker Community

  • Tec^Edge 5000 Springfield Street Dayton, OH, 45431 United States (map)

Dayton, Cincinnati and all of Southwest Ohio has become a hotbed of the
Maker Movement. Makerspaces are showing up in our communities, schools, and
even workplaces. Earlier this year, the Southwest Ohio Makerspace Alliance
was formed to foster communication and collaboration among these
makerspaces, and as a result several common themes are emerging.
- How do we educate the community about the Maker Movement?
- What motivates someone to seek out and join a makerspace?
- How can the community leverage makers and makerspaces for economic development?
- Can Makers become Manufacturers?
- How can makerspaces support entrepreneurship?
In this Collider, we will break down the theme of "Maker to Manufacturer:
Building the Maker Community" to identify common goals and tangible actions
we can take as individuals and organizations that run, support, and use
makerspaces within the Southwest Ohio region.
