The 62nd International Instrumentation Symposium (IIS) is sponsored jointly by the Aerospace Industries, Test Measurement, and Process Measurement and Controls Divisions of ISA. IIS is recognized internationally as the outstanding forum for discussion of new and innovative instrumentation techniques, development, and applications. The symposium will include paper sessions, short courses, workshops, and tutorials. Papers will be considered for publication in ISA’s technical journal, ISA Transactions, On-line Conference Proceedings and other ISA Journals.

Sponsored by ISA’s Aerospace Industries (ASD), Test Measurements (TMD), and Process Measurement and Control (PMCD) Divisions, in collaboration with ISA’s Automatic Controls and Robotics (ACARD) and Chemical and Petroleum Industries (ChemPID) Divisions, and the Propulsion Instrumentation Working Group (PIWG).

For 2016, ISA is partnering with the Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT) Society to offer a valuable combined event called the 62nd ISA International Instrumentation Symposium (IIS) and MFPT 2016.

The Machinery Failure Prevention Technology (MFPT) Society was established in 1967 under the leadership and sponsorship of the Office of Naval Research. Charter sponsors also included the Atomic Energy Commission, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration and several industrial organizations. The MFPT Society seeks to gain a better understanding of the processes of mechanical failures, reduce the incidence of mechanical failures by improving design methodology, more accurately predict mechanical failures, and apply increased knowledge to current problems.

The organization is strongly oriented toward practical applications. The membership includes professional scientists, engineers, failure analysts, maintenance specialists and others who represent a wide variety of disciplines from government agencies, universities, research institutes and industry.  For more information, visit http://www.mfpt.org/.

By bringing together the expertise, perspectives and strengths of two premier industry organizations, attendees will experience a truly unique and remarkable gathering on instrumentation, prognostics and health management.

To be held in Dayton, the symposium will showcase instrumentation techniques, applications and technologies across industries as well as incorporate MFPT’s focus on the practical application of health management across the entire field of engineering.
