Industry stakeholders commonly ask the Association for Manufacturing Technology (AMT) about the greatest challenges in the industry today or the latest discoveries in research and development. Tech Trends is a new endeavor by AMT to disseminate the vast amounts of information relating to advancements in the manufacturing technology industry. Tech Trends answers questions about the trends in manufacturing technology from three perspectives:
1. What is being industrially accepted?
2. What are the needs and challenges?
3. What are the areas of interest within
research and development?
Tim Shinbara’s presentation provides a glimpse into AMT’s recent findings regarding the advancements of manufacturing technolgy. Industrial trends found within the technologies, processes, and materials arena will be discussed.
