Please join the Friends of the Wright State University Libraries as we celebrate entrepreneurship and creativity in the Miami Valley at the 38th Annual Friends of the Libraries Luncheon.
A lunch buffet will be served at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, April 13th in the Berry Room of the Wright State Nutter Center, and will include the Wright Salad, lemon chicken, stuffed portobello mushrooms, roasted sweet potato, mixed vegetables, double chocolate cake, key lime pie, assorted breads, and iced tea.
From 12 p.m. - 1 p.m. guest speakers from the Raj Soin College of Business will discuss Wright Venture, a competition for students in the Raj Soin College of Business to compete for $5,000 in start-up capital for the winning small business idea. Inspired by the show, Shark Tank, finalists in the Wright Venture competition present their ideas to a group of savvy local business professionals, or Wolf Pack. Luncheon attendees will also hear from recent winners and finalists about their progress and hopes for the future.
Luncheon attendees will also hear a short presentation from University Libraries' very own Ran Raider, about the Patent and Trademark Resource Center and what it can do for inventors, entrepreneurs and future business owners in the Dayton community and beyond.
From 1 p.m. - 2 p.m. attendees can visit our Pop-up Maker Space with demonstrations and exhibits from local maker spaces, including those in Dunbar Library, Special Collections and Archives, Center for Teaching and Learning, Cincinnati Public Libraries, Miami University, and Greene County Libraries. Stop by our stations and learning about 3D printing, green screen and photo editing, oral histories, 3D scanning, 360 degree photography. Pick up your own 3D-printed object, or bring your friends to pose with props in our photo booth.
