The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), in partnership with the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL), the University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI), and SelectTech GeoSpatial, would like to invite you to a WBI Collider event on December 6, 2016 to discuss a new Joint Experimentation and Demonstration Facility (JEDF) at Airpark Ohio in Springfield. Modeled after the Naval Postgraduate School’s Joint Interagency Field Experimentation (JIFX) program, JEDF will be an opportunity for collaborative experimentation with cutting-edge technology that addresses current DoD capability gaps.
During this Collider event, we want your input on how to best organize a pilot / proof-of-concept event late-March / early-April , 2017. This is an opportunity for local area industry, academia, and government to establish a venue where together we can push the boundaries of current technology. Since the local small business community is crucial to its success, we are excited to hear your feedback.
The event point of contact is Major Brian Stone, Assistant Professor of Operations Research, AFIT. You can email him at [masked]. If you are government and would like to attend but do not want to register through the Collider page please let Major Stone know you would like to attend. If you are Industry please use the Collider page to register.
The JEDF is dedicated to rapidly advancing relevant Warfighter solutions:
- Its goal is to solve Warfighter challenges through relevant quarterly field experimentation and demonstration as directed by the COA and it Stakeholders.
- JEDF will be modeled and partnered with the NPS JIFX program in Monterrey, CA.
- Results will be leveraged by Military Users and Combatant Commanders and fed back to the COA and its stakeholders for continuous improvement.
- JEDF is initially funded by USAF and State of Ohio "seed money"; however, the program will be self sufficient via the User community by 2020.
AFIT, AFRL, WBI Team, UDRI, and the SelectTech GeoSpatial teams look forward to a great turnout to make this event a success!
