Brian Woodward - Going 'serverless' with JavaScript, APIs and Markup (JAM)

  • Sparkbox 123 Webster Street Dayton, OH, 45402 United States

For our November meeting we have Brian Woodward sharing his talk on going "Serverless".

"The days of coupling a backend webserver and the front-end web application are over. Monolithic deployments and waiting for operations are no more. Now front-end developers can focus on what they're good at: building front-end web applications.

This talk will go over options for generating, building and deploying front-end web applications using HTML, JavaScript, and Markdown, while providing dynamic features and data through existing APIs and services.

Sometimes custom and proprietary logic is necessary, so how can this be done without a server? Answering this question is necessary for a successful serverless web application and will be answered through examples and demonstrations. Stop tying front-end web applications to the backend and learn how to build fast and dynamic serverless web applications."
