Startup founders from around the world, and the businesses that fund them, will convene in Cincinnati this year for an entrepreneurial convention of sorts.
FounderCon 2016 will be held Oct. 18 to 20, adding the Queen City to the ranks of Boulder, Colorado and Austin, Texas, notable entrepreneurial hubs which have hosted the convention in previous years.
FounderCon will bring over 800 founders of tech-based startups, all alumni of the Techstars accelerator, to the Greater Cincinnati region.
They will be joined by an estimated 300 corporate business leaders looking to source ideas and learn from attendees who will be coming to the convention from around the globe.
“FounderCon is a huge strike point for #StartupCincy,” said Wendy Lea, CEO of Cintrifuse, an area startup accelerator.
“Our community is organized, smart, and ready for the spotlight," Lea said.
"The opportunity to host FounderCon gives us a chance to leverage our business community’s need for innovation and build peer-to-peer relationships between our entrepreneurs and those from the Techstars network."
FounderCon is held by Techstars, a mentorship-driven startup accelerator in Boulder, Colorado that holds 13 week programs for businesses in New York City, Boston, Seattle, San Antonio Chicago and London.
